The Brighter Side of Global Pandemic

While our thoughts are clouded with fear about the uncertainty brought in by the pandemic there is a positive underlying change that is happening around us. The pain, the loss, the agony can’t be compensated but as humans only we have the power to undo what we have wronged. This is the best time for that.

Put your rationality to test. Corona virus is a pandemic and this too shall pass but “What after that?” We wait for another? or “ Create a better world?”. A world that was gifted to us to flourish and prosper and we sucked the life out of the entity that helped us breathe. All the superficial possessions that we flaunt couldn’t save us from the crisis. Build what will help you sustain as a species. Build it for you and for your future generations. Allow others to flourish. That’s gonna be your legacy. We have been gifted with rationality for a reason.

The Covid-19 pandemic is an opportunity for us to evaluate and be more than willing to make amends and restore what’s lost. The pollution, the callous use of limited resources, our irreverence for other species and of course the slow poison that we are willingly stirring into our lives.

Learn to say “enough of it”. “Be the change you want to see in the world” said Mahatma Gandhi. Start alone before you think about changing the world. The biggest changes started with the simplest steps. Take the first step. Transform your everyday life. Save a little water, walk a little more, give up a little comfort, plant a tree, clean up your surrounding, show compassion to nature. These minuscule changes might seem powerless but when done consistently impacts many.

When things get normal don’t just get back and be busy , strive to change the definition of the ‘normal’. Make sure not to repeat the same mistakes. Make sure to change for good.

Conclusion:

This is the silver lining. A lesson that this crisis wants to teach us. Rather than waiting for things to normalize use this time to reevaluate and realign your thoughts. Start incorporating these small changes into your life. In no time you will see it being reciprocated. Nature is humble and kind. This is your time to show the unconditional love it has showered and the countless sacrifices it has done. Stop taking nature for granted, stop taking yourself for granted. Reconnect with life’s simple pleasures, return to nature what’s not ours. We live here but we aren’t the owners. It’s time we learn it fast before we are evicted out of here. Let’s rebuild what we ruined!!
